Version 2.16 released!

  • This version officially supports Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Also confirmed to work with Windows 7 and Windows 8, with some minor GUI visual artefacts, though.
  • Report bugs to feedback@asio4all.com!

Changes since version 2.15:

  • “Off-Line Settings” brought back, due to popular demand.
  • Now only one single installer, combining all languages supported.
  • Fixed regression that would sometimes constrain bit depth to 16 bits only.
  • Workaround for Intel SST USB wrapper.
  • Workaround for on-board audio on Gemini Lake Refresh (and possibly others as well).
  • Fixed: Sample rate would appear “stuck” at low setting (e.g. 8kHz) after swithing back and forth between audio devices inside the ASIO4ALL GUI.

  1. I’ve been trying to engage various friends using JackTrip.com. I have multiple Scarlett devices, so I gave my first generation 2i2 to one of the friends. One of the less technical friends wanted to try the Wrugste instead of springing for a Scarlett. I got the Wrugste at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7463T3C to see if it seemed adequate. I first tried with ASIO4ALL Version 2.16 on Win10-64, connecting locally by Ethernet to my private JackTrip server. My test case is playing bass along with metronome from JackTrip. The results were terrible — metronome would drop out for a measure every few measures, the bass was unacceptably distorted. I tried the same Wrugste configuration with M1 MacBook and Fedora 39. They worked just fine without adding any drivers. Just now I tried Wrugste and ASIO4ALL on a Win11 machine that I usually use with Scarlett 18i8. The metronome didn’t drop out, but the bass was unacceptably distorted. I uninstalled ASIO4ALL, reconnected the 18i8 and all was well again on that machine. Suggestions?

    Sehr geehrter Herr Tippach,

    Vielen Dank

  3. Hi,

First of all thanks for the hard work. It helped me a lot.

Thou yesterday I tried to use it with a Behringer X18. It was recoqnized by asio4all but only 16 out of 18 inputs and 2 channels were duplicated.
The order was also wrong as well.

Is there a fix for it or anything i can do?
If not, might there be a patch later?

    kind regards

    Taske

    1. Behringer X18 is a professional audio interface, but you use asio4all, which is a magical thing

  4. When first opened, is it possible not to load an existing driver device? Or, after the user has customly selected a device, can the software automatically select a default device when the selected device is not connected?

    1. I have found the solution.

    Hi,
I’m interested in exploring the ASIO4ALL application and I’m curious about the source code. Could you please let me know if it’s available for public access? If so, could you recommend the official repository?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

    1. This obviously means that 70 out of 74 virus scanners must be absolute junk – as they completely *fail* to default to false positive, in case of a file yet unkown to them?

      Probably False Postive.

  • Advanced configuration

    Advanced configuration

Once the control panel has been switched to advanced mode, things begin to look a little more complicated. The device list is now expandable and you can enable more than one item at a time. The device list contains Devices, Device Interfaces and so called “Pins”. Devices are independent hardware units most of the time.…

    Device aggregation

Using the button next to each entry, you can now selectively enable/disable each particular item in the device list. This way, you can also create multi-device-setups (“aggregate devices”). Multi-device-setups require that all the devices involved are running from the same clock source. You can achieve this by daisy-chaining devices via S/PDIF etc. On-board devices usually…

  • Latency Compensation

    Latency Compensation

Since ASIO4ALL does not have sufficient knowledge of the underlying hardware/driver architecture, it can only guess the actual latencies involved. With these sliders you can compensate for the latencies unknown to ASIO4ALL such that recordings in your sequencer Software are properly aligned with the rest. Note: In multi-device-setups the largest respective value of all devices…

    Hardware Buffer on/off

Note: For WaveRT drivers, this box is labeled “Allow Pull Mode (WaveRT)” instead! Enables the hardware buffer for the highlighted device. This only works for so called “WavePCI” miniports, as other types of WDM drivers do not usually allow direct access to the hardware buffer. Adjustment for best hardware buffer performance involves the “ASIO Buffer…

    Kernel Buffers/Buffer Offset

If hardware buffering is disabled, this control lets you add up to two more buffers to be queued for audio output. Each additional buffer increases the output latency of the device by the time it takes to play one buffer. Therefore, the initial setting of “2” should only be changed on less powerful machines, where…
